Healthy eating guidelines theorize that low carb diets can lower triglyercides, reduce insulin and increase HDL (good) cholesterol. This was recently verified in a study of 40 overweight men and women to be true.
After 12 weeks the subjects who consumed the low carb/high fat meal were better able to metabolize a high fat meal in regards to blood markers of cholesterol metabolism.
We already know the healthy eating guidelines about lower carb meals being beneficial as healthy weight loss diets for dropping body fat and saving lean muscle. It also appears that you can improve your cholesterol levels as well.
So don’t be afraid to try a low carb/high fat weight loss diet plan because if you follow the right healthy eating guidelines it will also improve blood levels as well as helping you to lose weight.
